Marc Riley & The Creepers
Platt Fields (Festival)
1985

This is one of a series of photos I took with my little Olympus trip camera at the International Youth Year festival, I think on Platt Fields. Apart from The Creepers the line up included James, Yargo, Easterhouse, Kalima and others.
Marc Riley was being annoyed by some skinheads near the front of the stage- and he said: " I used to have a Skinhead once, but its cruel to keep things in cages! "

“One of my favourite Creepers gigs was a miners' benefit alongside The Three Johns- which ended up in some rather unlikely club venue on Oxford Street / Road somewhere. They were both on top form.”

“I've got more pictures from the IYY festival, mainly middle distance shots of the stage unfortunately.”

“The bassist is Paul Keogh isn't it? Always looked completely out of place as a goth among Salford attic lurkers. I think a friend of mine dated him in the mid-late 80s.”
