Mark Hambourg
1923

Mark Hambourg, born 1 June 1879, was a Russian British concert pianist, who came from a family of musicians, with his father and brother also being pianists, and his other brothers being a cellist and violinist respectively.

His career began when he was a child, due to his family’s poverty, through which he met Oscar Wilde, Bernard Shaw and many others. During this time, he started to trade large boxes of chocolates for allowing elderly women to kiss him! He was consistently believed to be one of the most talented pianists of his age.
