Little Histories focus: Maurice D'Oisley
Maurice was a popular tenor with the Hallé between 1911 and 1929. In 1910, one year prior to joining the Hallé, D'Oisley performed the following in a single week:

5th March: Aegisth in Elektra, sung in German
7th March: Melot in Tristan Und Isolde, also in German
8th March: Maurice de Bracy in Sullivan's Ivanhoe, in English
9th March: Azael in L'Enfant Prodigue, in French
11th March: Maurice de Bracy in Sullivan's Ivanhoe, in English

This showcases Maurice's impressive language skills as well as his prestige as a tenor!
