Frederick Dawson. Postcard photo depicting the renown concert pianist at his instrument. Inscribed at the top, ‘In remembrance, Frederick Dawson' and on the reverse is a little bit of music scrawled. Dawson (1868>1940) studied with Charles Hallé and pursued a successful performing career with an unusually extensive repertoire. In Elgar’s time, he taught at the Royal Manchester College of Music.
