The Hallé
1895

A photocard from Raoul Pugno, part of the recently gifted to the Hallé Archive from Arthur Reynolds with help from the National Lottery Memorial Fund.  Pugno was Ysaÿe’s accompanist in the 1899 series of Queens Hall concerts attended by Elgar. Alice Elgar’s diary records that she and Edward heard Ysaÿe and Pugno play Beethoven sonatas at Queens Hall in April 1910.
