Edward Elgar writes to “my dear Children” on Christmas Eve proclaiming to only now have received their Christmas food wishes but reassures them that he is up to the task and all is not lost. Although he does sign “Edward Elgar” and not, “dad”, so he may have been more harried than he let on.
