Flyer
Tintin
Precinct 13
1988

This flyer was a home-made effort - and I think the image comes from an old a 7" record sleeve, although I don't remember which one. It was quite common at the time to list all the bands whose music you played (see left-hand side of flyer). Precinct 13 was on the site of the old gay club Stuffed Olives (ominous name for a gay club) and Precinct 13's new owners wanted to make it a straight venue. Andy Madhatter played at weekends and enlisted me to play the 'student night' on a Monday after hearing me play at The Venue. Unfortunately, the night clashed with Monday night at The Ritz - which was the biggest student/indie night in town, so my night was empty. On the first night we had two people in. On the second night, we had the same two people in, but no-one else. At least I could say that 100 per cent of our punters came back for more. I remember a bloke who was the spitting image of the keyboard player in Blancmange worked behind the bar. I was sacked after three weeks.
