Tony The Greek

Tony The Greek aka Tony Michaelides acting as compere for the Manpower Music Festival. Tony was mainly renowned for his Sunday night alternative show on Piccadilly Radio; the theme tune for which was a mix of Section 25's 'View From A Hilltop". He strongly supported the local music scene. He was also a 'plugger' for U2. Not a very good pic but thought that he deserves a slot here!

“Mr Michaelides has blogged loads of great old tales at engineroominsights.wordpress.com/2008...

See Home for main index.

The above link is about an early U2 gig at the Poly and another on Shudehill. He recalls that it was at the Beach Club but I'd always believed U2 played upstairs at The Lower Turks Head pub??”

“They did play at the Beach Club which was owned by Bunny, the ex boxer who had a pub near the BOTW.”
