The Blues Pentagon was formed in about 1963 and featured Bruce Mitchell on drums (Later Durutti Column, Julius Hasford on tenor, Glyn Homer on trombone, Tony Whalley on trumpet, Graham Orr on guitar, Mike (Elmer) Brooks on keyboards and Martin O'Brien on bass/ vocals.

They played at Club 43 (often with the Victor Brox Blues Train) and many other venues until about 1967.
