My first ever gig. It was held at this venue which doubled up as a cinema too. For a few years it held quite a few punk gigs, as well as shows by Magnum and Fat Larry as I recall. £2.50, those were the days! I got it signed when the band played at the Academy 1 about 2 years ago. They nearly all wear wigs now!!

“Yeah, there was a flurry of gigs at this old cinema when I was at 6th form. Spear of Destiny, The Damned, Killing Joke/Play Dead, Gary Glitter, Style Council, Fat Larry's band, Hanoi Rocks, Twisted Sister.....”

“I remember Hanoi Rocks being supported by a local band from Macc, Pet Hate who used to be Silverwing, or was it the other way round. Also saw the Damned on the Strawberries tour- nuns as backing singers!!”
