Ticket
Mayflower Club
8th August 1981

ticket for the damned at the mayflower 1981...this was a benefit gig for the greater manchester play resource unit and the second gig the band had played that day...the reverse side shows the tickets were bought from discount records on the underground market...cant seem to link the two together..??

“We always used to get our tickets there for the Saturday afternoon gigs at the Mayflower. Funnily enough I had the use of the resources at 'Grumpy House' ( G.M.P.R.U ) a decade later whilst working on Preston Carnival.
I think there was some discussion of the connection on the post with the excellent photo of the front of the Mayflower.”

“Discount Records......where I bought my very 1st single - 'Silly Thing' by the Sex Pistols (still got it, too :-)
Does anyone remember Kermit who worked there before getting a job in the (then) new Virgin Records Shop.....? He opened his own shop on High Street (Vinyl Underground) in about 87, when he managed to buy a job-lot of bankrupt stock that had been in storage from the late 70's......loads of rare 10 year old punk records, but still brand new and cheap as chips.....Wonder what he's up to these days....?”

“Sure it was Muppet, saw him a couple of years ago
Discount records was owned by Mike and bev, a well to do couple, then it was ran by Sain ( now a belly dancer teacher ) and Nick, both hippies !
I could be found there after work ( punk window cleaner ) everyday, that's why I'm not rich”
