Members of Born Idle, and New York punk band Molotov Cocktail pose for a photo after a gig at the Star & Garter in (I think) summer 1998. Molotov were on a 3 month jaunt around Europe to support their debut LP. I've just managed to get a copy recently....only took 11 years to find one!

“i remember one time we played this venue (may have been this gig) at the end of the night we packed everything up and checked we had everything then set off home...half way home we realised we had left the bass drum....was'nt like it was small or anything !, it was in a case and one of the biggest things we brought...we did get it back though i cant remember how....space heads or what!”

“Nah, Foz, we used their drum kit on the night (a black premier XPK).....I can't ever remember leaving my Genista behind after a gig - it cost too much dosh! Must've been another one of the legion of drummers Born Idle have had down the years!
The American chaps were all top drawer, good lads........more than can be said for the other support band on the night - 'Fleas and Lice' - stuck up, cliquey, middle-class, crusty, twenty-something, squatters from Holland - arses, one and all! Notice how they avoided this after gig photo...!

PS - This gig was in the summer of 2001, not 1998 - I only joined the band in early 1999.”

“could have sworn it was your bass drum..think we only ever played here with one other drummer and that was brian..never mind not the first time i got things wrong.

i do remember fleas & lice being a bunch of twats...middle class & crusty does'nt quite go together does it..i wonder what they're doing now, working for dady's company maybe...there was a lot snooty tossers around at this time "d.i.y. my arse"...they never knew how to take us because we did'nt wear jack boots and ocasionaly had a wash...thing is we regulary out played em.

soapbox speech over!

ps...al sort your dates out.”
