The Durutti Column, Simply Red

about the fourth gig of the much larger early version of the Durutti Column with Tony Bowers on bass who went to form the Mothmen and play bass in Simply Red I believe. Tony Wilson and Alan Erazmus were both involved in managing this band at this stage and it was fronted by singer "Handbag Phil" Phil Rainford who often wore a scarf even in summer Doctor Who style- tapes of some of the Deeply Vale set exist
