this was a bass cab of 1600 watts rating with four Gauss 400 watt 15 inch built for Peter Hook and the whole bass set up was invented in discussions between Martin Hannett, Chris Hewitt and Hooky when Joy Division were recording upstairs above the shop in Cargo studios. this cab was stolen the first time New Order went to America before they had done one gig and then we built two separate 2 x15 800 watt cabs which Hooky still uses today along with the clone theory and the Alembic pre amp

yes the whole truck of New Order's gear was nicked all they left was a very heavy 240/110volt converter they had hired

Any idea if the VHS tape with the Leigh Festival footage was among the gear stolen? Perhaps they were going to give it to Michael Shamberg a few days later for him to convert it to NTSC?

The Stranglers also had their gear pinched around the same time which spawned the song "Dead Loss Angeles" ....
