Pete McKee Presents:
Great Moments in Manchester Music

Artist Pete McKee has a new show coming up in Manchester titled “Great Moments in Manchester Music”. With the help of some Musical Manchester notables Pete is putting together a collection of paintings reflecting some key moments in Manchester’s music history. The Exhibition is planned to tour Odd, Odder and Oddest bars from 8th October till the 14th January.

Pete who was born in the city of Sheffield Said

"I kind of see Manchester as Sheffield’s naughty big brother who gets into trouble every now and then.
We share a very similar DNA: Northern, industrial and musical. We’ve both made our mark on the psyche of the youth of today and yesterday, influencing them to dress and dance in a way that separates them from others and makes them feel special while sat alone in a bedroom reading LP sleeves listening to music inspired by rain and industry.

This exhibition is my way of celebrating the role Manchester’s music scene has played in helping sullen teenagers grow up to be Sheffield’s Guardian-reading social workers and teachers — or Tesco night line managers — or artists."

The dates are:
Oddest – Wilbraham Road: 8 October – 5 November
Odd – The Northern Quarter: 5 November – 7 December
Odder – Oxford Road: 7 December – 14 January

Fans of Pete's work include, Noel Gallagher, Paul Weller, Marc Riley, Richard Hawley, and The Arctic Monkeys. He has also recently done work for the latest Oasis tour, creating two special edition posters for the Wembley and Heaton Park dates
