Artefact

Right, I have paid my debt to society now but they failed to rehabilitate me. I am probably even more anal infact and to prove it here is the Synthi ad. There were a lot of drugs around then. That would account for the decision to place the uglier of the two women in the foreground. The dog would be sniffing their butts and the farmer (well known for their love of Synth noodling after a hard day tilling the soil) would naturally be ogling the winsome pair and drooling over the briefcase from hell.I think EMS must have used all their budget on Research and Design and had to knock this leaflet up at lunchtime after a few barley wines in the adjacent pub. The leaflet was a bit long for my scanner but this shows the important bit. The other side is worth uploading too as it show this studio that would not look out of place in Gerry Anderson's Ed Bishop starring (as the eternally troubled Ed Straker)non puppet UFO with a couple of spoilt brats sat in front of what looks like a GPO switchboard or a modular synth that Kraftwerk would die for.In the foreground there is a topless trollope announcing "Dont play M**G play SYNTHI".Strange Days indeed.........
