The Twisted Wheel Blue Plaque Project -
We are looking for help and pledges of support for this famous club to get the recognition it so thoroughly deserves, in the cultural history of Manchester Soul music.

The Wheel is the only one of the real Fab 4 Northern Soul Clubs left standing in its original state position. (we know braznose St and the Coronation St B/pool venues are long gone, but
this is not just any Club...its THE Club.

The Birthplace of Northern Soul, everyone thinks its Wigan, i'm sorry but the Casino was the baby of the group, every single word written on the history of N/Soul will varify that Roger Eagle was the pioneer dj of the scene, and dave Godin from B&S magazine coined the word Northern Soul years before the casinos doors opened, and after The Wheel closed, the members and devotees had to get their kicks out on the floor, elswhere and that was The Torch, the Mecca, and later The Casino.

I'm not dissing the casino, Iwent there from the day it opened to the day it closed, but for many THIS CLUB in our City is legendary around the world, and we NEED YOUR SUPPORT.

we are at the 2nd stage of getting a English heritage Blue plaque for this venue and we cannot fail in our goal to make this happen.
