“I don't ever recall the Buzzcocks rehearsing at TJ's, though I'm sure they did as I recall loading their rather splendid Merc' van (with the addition of airline seats) up - with Joy Division's gear from that very establishment.
An extra point to anyone who can remember the name of the Alsatian (or it's owner) who 'lived' there.”

“Hi
My name is Tony Davidson the owner of TJM RECORDS and owner of the famous TJM rehearsal studios one small correction the Buzzcocks were one of the many Manchester bands who used the studios on a full time basis.I have been asked to do a documentary on the rehearsal studios as I hope to start a new production company, well done mark on your reference library. I would like to meet up with as many people as possible who where connected with the label and rehearsal studios and have a story to tell. Please get in touch buy e-mail or contact me on 07810744695 or 0161 4284625

“I remember the Buzzcocks in there. They rehearsed below us. We had a room on the next floor, next door to Manicured Noise. We spent many happy hours down there rehearsing”

“Buzcocks had a near permanent space at TJ's for a couple of years or more, the room they used most was opposite the one where Joy Division shot the Love will tear us apart video.
I recall there was a cafe a couple of doors away from TJ's that everybody used to use. Barney & Hooky did an interview for the New Order documentary (the one where Gillian interviews Tony Wilson in the bath) in that cafe. It also used to get used quite a bit in Coronation Street, as "Kevins garage" was shot on location in the arches behind TJ's.”

“Our band, Salem, practised at TJs every Sunday around 1978. One week we had to use the Buzzcocks room as our usual room was taken. I remember hearing the Fall and Joy Division. Our bassist was ex slaughter and the dogs, who TJ was managing at the time.”
