New Order '(81?) recording for a series called "celebration" I think it was, which was broadcast a few weeks later. It's got "Discount Records" ,in the underground market stamped on the back so they must have been giving them out.Anyway it was an all day affair and they also had some bloke trying to gee us up before recording like it was top of the pops or something...not that sort of crowd, not that sort of band.We were also told we'd be fed half way through the day which never eventuated and cos it was cold a lot of people sloped off after a few hours. This wasn't long after Joy Division but I think they only played new stuff.I went to quite a few of these t.v. live recording things (mainly The Oxford Road Show) and if you could avoid being run over by cameras they were usually quite good.I recall Bernard Sumner seemed to give Tony Wilson a bit of a hard time from the stage during recording over something or other, maybe that was the norm.Anyway it was a good day out and fun was had by all....
