Flyer
Gags
Band On The Wall
1st September 1988

Rest of previous flyer....The legendary Desmond Dekker;still going I think....Often used to pop in The Swinging Sporran on a Wednesday night in the late '70s.The lad who used to D.J. in the upstairs use to let me have a go for half an hour or so while he took a break.Anyway I always used to play "The Israelites" as it was one of my all-time favourite choons. It could get a bit rough in there from time to time, downstairs especially, which was more greabo/rock stylings.Pretty much the worst all-in brawl I ever saw was in the downstairs when all hell broke loose.I never saw so many pint pots (the old-fashioned ones with the big handles) fly through the air, and all you could do was stand back and try and avoid glass shattering all around you.Nick Lowe might have loved the sound but I can't say I did.I think it was the McCewan's lager that did it....
