“If I am not mistaken David Byrne insisted in having the house lights on through out their performance..”

“Greatest gig I've ever been to. The energy and the atmosphere were electric. The Ramone's guitars kept shorting out because the condensation from all the sweaty bodies was dripping from the ceiling on to their amps - the whole crowd chanting hey-ho lets go for ten minutes before the lights blazed on and they fired up with Blitzkrieg Bop. Other memories - the local scallies taking potshots with an air rifle at the queuing punks from the adjoining estate , oh, and Tina Weymouth was beautiful. Yes, the lights were on through Talking Heads' set, Byrne, asking for them to be switched on so he could see "all the people here."”

“I was at this concert with a few other lads from Blackpool, we went to lots of gigs at the Electric Circus, Russell Club etc around that time 77/78 etc

Edit: I have an Electric Circus flyer that is not listed on here. I will scan it and send it to the website.”

“The Ramones had a bit of trouble with the vocals, too - Dee Dee screaming "One! One! One!" into a dead mike, then going over and plugging Joey's in for him after he'd kicked the stand into the crowd, screaming "Just one more, man, that's all!" at the guy on the mixing desk.
They played every song but one from both albums in just over an hour, coming on + going off through the crowd, past the blankets and egg-cartons lining the walls. The heat detuned the guitars ferociously, so that by the second time they played 'Sheena Is A Punk Rocker' it was unrecognisable. Johnny left his jacket on stage at the end and I grabbed it and...ran over and gave it him back (D'oh!).
I remember thinking how strange it was to see them in colour for the first time!”
