I'd love to be able to say i went to the Hacienda when i was 12 years old but that would just be a lie. I see a couple of people have posted membership cards of various vintage, including this type, elsewhere. I have one of the 'new' ones somewhere - given out after it re-opened - i'll post that if and when i find it. Anyway - this one, which i believe was the type given out when it very first opened, was given to me by Hewan Clarke - a somewhat overlooked figure in the history of the Hacienda. The first person to play a record at the Hacienda, a great DJ and a bloody nice fella. He gave me a couple because "I've got boxes of them at home!". Here it is 'artfully' shot on my kitchen table straddling a piece of hallowed dancefloor.
