The launch of Strawberry's new Westlake Audio-designed control room in late 1975. Designer Tom Hidley of Westlake is on the far right of the photo and studio co-owner Peter Tattersall is sat at the desk.

When the International Musician magazine visted Strawberry just after the completion of the control room, Tattersall told them ""We wanted to get the perfect room when we went 24 track. I'd seen a lot of Westlake rooms and thought they had incredible ideas. Thev're so advanced in studio design. The decor was pretty good as it was but it doesn't compare to the finished result now."

As the Albertos' C P Lee noted of his visit to Strawberry at the time, "I was more suitably impressed with the walls…these were layered in a mixture of Californian pine and a particular kind of stone that had been quarried off a cliff face in Colorado. Apparently only this stone would absorb the sound in the specific way that the audio engineers deemed acoustically correct"

Thanks to Peter Tattersall for the photo
