Manchester loved the Slits, and I have a very soft spot for them personally! I got to know them on Buzzcocks Tour Number three and they asked me to roadie for them when they supported the Clash on the "Sort it out" tour - Happy Daze!!
I was sad to learn Ari died last October aged just 48 - a true original.
