From City Life 7, March ’84; a general What’s On overview in clubs for that fortnight.
Annabelle’s; don’t remember where that was.....
Slave at The Carousel, Jazz Funk at The Gallery. It was a burgeoning and healthy underground scene for the times. A girl I know through the local chapter of the Northern Soul crowd in this neck of the woods (they get everywhere!), spends a fair whack of her dosh on what used to be called Jazz Funk but insists it comes under the category of Nu Soul. Well she’s over 6 ft, proportionally built and has a successful dominatrix business so who am I to disagree.....?
