Ticket
G-MEX
19th June 1992

If I remember rightly my ex had to queue for the best part of a day inside the Apollo to get tickets for this gig which was arranged at short notice. Excellent gig, I got told off for standing on something (arm of a seat?) order to see! Lou Reed came on stage to sing Satellite of Love with Bono at the end! Apparently this gig was planned for Heaton Park but the Council refused permission - it was part of a Greenpeace protest against the building of a second nuclear power plant in Cumbria - Sellafield.

“...and Public Enemy also came on to a half empty hall in full black power military garb, hugely impressive , very loud and just a little bit scarey ! U2 were a the top of their game and did the whole Zoo TV show for the first time with flying Trabants et al.”
