City Life 20, Nov ’84. A general What’s On page. Bishop of Durham and Ching Ching the panda D.J.ing at the Tropicana;must have been a top notch night.
Other stuff happening on a musical tip that particular fornight:-Jerry Dammers spotted round town at several gigs, particularly Tuesday's Jazz Funk thing at The Berlin as well as The Jazz Defectors big showcase gig at The Tropicana; t'were a good night.
Little Douglas causing no little stir on the local scene, with D.J. round town and future Home manager, Joe Strong on vocalisation duties; sounding "a bit like The Undertones if they'd been listening to a whole lotta soul in '76."
Interview with Big Ed and his Rockin' Rattlesnakes, with explanation on why they dont' need a bass player.
52nd Street release"Can't Afford" 12 " (FAC 118).
A.C.R. release "Life's a Scream".
Biting Tongues doing a residency at The Old Grey Horse down Didsbury way etc....
