Flyer
Hulme Labour Club
1986

Just staying on the political tip one more time for old time's sake; serendipitous I should find this and according to Shirley Bassey it may just be “a little bit of history repeating”. This particular flyer from 1986 doing the rounds as protest over 5,500 jobs just being lost in the move from Fleet St. to Wapping.
Isn't (one) definition of madness, when you keep on doing the same thing over and over with the same negative result...? Well 25 years on from Fortress Wapping and the alarm bells are sounding just as loud and clear, as they no doubt were many years previous to this particular event, and now with a golden opportunity to try and correct some of these past mistakes.
Well it's said ignore history at your peril, but with all the financial instability and upheaval in the world at the moment, I hope it's not a case of evolving backwards. We've all the information in the universe at our fingertips, all we need now is some knowledge and intelligence; I'd drink to that !
In the bottom corner "This note is as phony as Rupert Murdoch"
