“Uncle Ralph's a good friend now and I produced one of his records. While still a teenager, me and my friend Paul Abbott went backstage to get the autograph and Paul asked him, "So how do you write a song then?"
I thought we'd be thrown out immediately but Ralph sat us both down, gave us each a bottle of beer and explained the process to Paul for about half an hour. What a gent!”
