Ivan’s Meads

Ivan’s Meads were a very popular ‘mod’ band from Manchester and they played all the music venues of the time – Twisted Wheel, Oasis, Jungfrau, Cavern, Jigsaw, etc. They released ‘Sins of a Family’ (written by PF Sloane) in 1965 and although the recording didn’t land high in the charts it was a big hit with the local clubbers. Ivan’s Meads were signed to Kennedy Street Enterprises and performed all over the country including big tours with top chart acts of the day. The line up: Ivan Robinson – vocals Keith Lawless – bass Roderick Mayall (brother of John Mayall) – Hammond Organ Pat Dempsey – tenor sax Alan Powell - drums
