Gorilla started out as the Green Room, which was an experimental art, theatre and comedy venue. After they shut down in 2011- Gorilla opened their doors a year after in 2012. Located at the end of the Oxford Road corridor, and under a railway bridge, Gorilla has seen artists including Sam Fender, Blossoms, and Foals, performing there in their early careers.
With a capacity of 550, Gorilla is one of the most popular venues in Manchester, with Johnny Marr in 2020 saying “I think Gorilla is one of the best venues in the country”. Essentially, Gorilla is a perfect place for new and emerging artists to thrive.
