Don't Mention The Hacienda - The Adventures Of Alan Wise

Alan Wise was an eccentric influence on the Manchester music scene for 40 years. At the Russell Club in the late 70s. As manager of Nico in the 80s - and as "Dr Demetrius" in the mercilessly funny book about them which followed: Songs They Never Play On The Radio. As friend and promoter of New Order, The Fall and John Cooper Clarke, in between falling out with all of them. As the man who put Jerry Lee Lewis, Chuck Berry and Little Richard, back on British stages in the Noughties. As the gambler who eventually ran out of luck and money but never quite out of friends. This exhibition is a taster of materials gathered for a film. It might still happen, so some good bits are being held back until that is decided.
