Little Dipper
Little Dipper was the brainchild of musician RoBoTaLiEn, which spanned multiple genres ( such as punk, electro, rock, noise pop ) and years, (1997-2010).
Little Dipper played their first ever Manchester show as a 3 piece indie rock outfit on 12/12/2000 at the Night and Day cafe where they headlined a busy and eclectic Tuesday night bill.
Logistics and abject poverty eventually saw Little Dipper become a one person electro rock indie pop slacker outfit and started playing almost weekly gigs at what was once the DRY BAR in 2004. After gaining a bit of interest by the end of that year, March 2005 saw Little Dipper playing the prestigious CLUB FANDANGO to a sold out Night and Day, which ended up getting the musician signed to a new indie label called Crunch Records, and start recording debut single "Friendly People" that summer, which was finally released in February 2007.
In 2006 Little Dipper went on tour with Dodgy frontman Nigel Clark, who was then promoting his "21st Century Man" solo album.
Due to undiagnosed ADHD and RoBoTaLiEn's inability to keep something the same for more than a year or so, Little Dipper became a band once more in 2007 and played many gigs with bands such as Editors, Tubelord, Johnny Foreigner, Dinosaur Pile Up, Distophia to namecheck a few, but by 2009 the cracks were showing and the bassist moved to Norway. Feeling the burnout, RoBoTaLiEn decided to retire the name. Little Dipper's back catalogue can be found at https://thelittledipper.bandcamp.com
