Sgt. Peppers (Stockport)
The Tab opened in late 1966 and closed end of 1969. Reg Pickstock owned it and sold it to Tony Stuart, who opened it as Sgt Pepppers.
This was a completely different club than The Tabernacle Club.
The Tab hosted live bands every Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights, including many famous ones. It also had all-night sessions.
The DJ was Jimmy Cohen and he played records which would now be classed as Northern Soul.
The club was frequented by Mods.
Sgt Peppers was a completely different club, more of a disco and unlike The Tab, it sold beer.
Thanks to Berny for the info.
