rain says: they were one of the best live bands around at that time... no doubt about it
DG says: Loved Yargo. I remember a great gig one Christmas Eve(?) at International II where Basil finished the set, jumped off the stage and walked through the crowd before dissapearing through the front door of the venue.
How come none of their stuff seems to be available on cd?
drakeford says: The 2 LPs were originally released on CD and you can still get the vinyl on Ebay! See http://www.discogs.com/artist/Yargo for original releases.
brushuk says: their first gig was supporting the band i was in 'upside down inside outs' at the lamplight... we played there regularly, and basil came over one night and asked if he could support us.
Tony says: Eh up DG, the Christmas Eve gig was the Int1 mate, I'm sure, followed by that VERY ill-advised trip to the Plaza - legendary cheapo curryhouse up the road, pic found on Flikr at http://www.flickr.com/photos/kh1234567890/1449505053/ Home of the Suicide Curry. Just found a tale online of a guy who was so ill after a booze and Plaza sesh that he puked up so hard he detached both his retinas! Lightweight! ;-)
DG says: Cheers Tony. It was a long time ago. Remember rounding the night off in style at the Plaza - think I found that fella's retinas in my biryani.
