Hulme Hippodrome

Finding Morrissey's vivid evocation of 1960s Hulme absorbing, but distracted by the American spellings in the book: color, glamor, center, etc. Has anyone else noticed this? Highly inconsonant. I'll go to the foot of our stairs.
