Artefact

Ticket
World of Twist
International 1
11th August 1990

Like the Ritz gig a few months later (see seperate artefact) this was also a classic. I think Intastella were the support on this occasion too?

Like other entries on this site, I agree, The International 1 was a fantastic venue with a great disco thrown in after the bands - the excellent DJ Dave Booth on this occasion.

Bands were beginning to put a bit of thought into their stage shows at this time after years of non-light shows and shoegazing. World of Twist had brilliant home made revolving curiosities on the go. A giant fag packet being one, I think.

World of Twist are one of the great Manchester bands from this period who often get downplayed in Factory-centric versions of events. Great visuals, great tunes, great night.

“i agree- i was at this and it was fantastic! they were a top band and oftern overlookeed. i was very saddened to hear of tony ogden's death last year.
r.i.p.”
“As far as I can recall from being there Intastella did indeed provide support. I'm also sure Vic Reeves and Bob Mortimer introduced both bands.”
