Thomas Baron Pitfield
1968

This is one of the many arty items in the Thomas Pitfield collection. Pitfield, whose creative characteristics and attributes are too numerous to list here, was a student and later teacher at the Royal Manchester College of Music. This mask is from his morality play, "Adam and the Creatures". This charming chap is the elephant mask from the play when it was first performed in 1968 in Bowdon, where Pitfield lived during his teaching career at the College.
