Arthur Butterworth
1993

A musical score by Arthur Butterworth based on Virginia Woolf's "Orlando" in which he details of the Great Frost of 1603 is described in great detail: "birds froze in mid-air and fell like stones to the ground."
This manuscript puts Woolf's original words to a short score, the full extent of which is a huge symphony piece.
