“! went to this concert with my girlfriend (now wife of 20 years). We arrived early to get at the front, my girlfriend getting trapped in the stampede to get in. We saw Raimonde (the support act), fronted by James Maker, a friend of Morrissey.

I seem to remember the venue being unsuited to such a large excited crowd. The crowd were making the floor and stage bounce, the stage crew were trying to stop the speakers toppling off the stage onto the crowd.”
