Letter
Ida Carroll, Geoffrey Griffiths
1939

Griff writes to Ida, "please please don't worry about sirens (i.e. high-pitched wailing sounds indicative of approaching enemy aircraft) and me, if there is an trouble and I am out, I've no intention of standing about and gaging witlessly at the heavens. The nearest shelter every time for me, or between something, in a prone position, to reduce the chance of splinters!" Smart lad.
They're planning a day out at Lyme Park but he doesn't mind "all I ask is that you shall be there." He's reading "Shabby Tiger", a book by Howard Spring set in Manchester.
