A 20/20 Legacy: the centenary of the Northern School of Music

Letter
Ida Carroll, Geoffrey Griffiths
Northern School Of Music (NSM)
1941

Griff tells Ida that he's restless, hoping for the return of a family friend at war, and then cards and the radio. The radio being on the fritz with "Ravel at this moment is doing nothing to help" his restlessness.
Work has been slow and he could have been with her "helping you to keep the fire warm" and work hours aren't looking good.
He arranges a walk with her and possibly a trip to the cinema. He has been training up the Hyde travel office workers, and hoped to have some time alone to call Ida at work at the NSM. However, he soon had work to do before the call could properly connect.
