Ticket
International 1
1990

I often wondered what happened to the Internationals I and II, I'd even forgotten their locations until i came across some old tickets with their addresses on. I used to drive from Chester using a coloured fold out map of Manchester to guide me in. This is the only ticket i can find of the International I, but I recall seeing It Bites at the International I (I think), maybe someone can shed some light on it. I recall seeing Steve Earle (acoustic show), Lenny Kravitz, Dan Reed Network and The Jeff Healey Band between 1987-1990, I can't find the tickets and I suspect the gigs were at the International II.

“Del Amitri 19/02/90, my wife and I drove across to Manchester recently and found the International I now a turkish supermarket, the staff thought we were from the council when they caught us both taking photos of the place. The supermarket is well stocked and really cheap and even has a takeaway selling kebabs etc with tables and chairs to eat in too. We also found the site of International II, now an apartment complex called Plymouth Village Apartments. I wonder, does anybody know why they both closed down?”

“3 great gigs at the International 1. The Leather Nun & The Bomb Party, Zodiac Mindwarp & Fields of the Nephilim, Jayne's Addiction & Birdland. All mid-late 80's. Does anyone remember these.
It was a great club, used to go there all the time, then the drunken walk back to the city centre to catch a night bus home.”
