A soprano cornet (a cornet with a high E flat pitch). This one was made in Manchester by Joseph Higham Ltd in the late 19th century. Etched on the horn is a royal crest and the words "patent by Her Majesty's royal letters J. Higham maker, inventor and patentee, Victoria Bridge, Manchester, 5280"
