Jeff Buckley at Manchester University (MDH) was one of my favourite gigs of all time. My sister and I were on the front row. It was very intense, joyful and bewitching. I feel deeply privileged to have snatched the chance to see him. My sister also caught him at Glastonbury.

Jeff was the kind of performer that changes something inside you forever. He was aggressive, sexual, spiritual. I remember him angrily ranting about a journalist who had interviewed him earlier that day entirely from the 'Tim Buckley's son' angle.

Prior to making his proper entrance, Jeff played drums on a song with the suppport band, Drugstore. His hair was wet and he was bare-chested with just a towel round his neck.

Thinking of it now gives me goosebumps.
