The Academy 2, which opened in 1963 and initially hosted jazz musicians; its first performance featuring Humphrey Lyttelton and his band. It is located within the University of Manchester Students’ Union (built in 1957) on Oxford Road, Manchester (M13 9PR), right next to The Academy 1.
