Band On The Wall
1st May 1987

I think Victor Brox played with Hendrix, and probably for more than 5 minutes;so he's definitely one of the old guard.Probably hung out with Alexis Korner and old matey from Stockport way (via Laurel Canyon),John Mayall.
Some crap trivia...did you know Paul Simon apparently wrote his chart-topping hit "Homeward Bound" while waiting for a train at Stockport Station? Not a lot o' people know that...etc,etc...
I recall seeing Clive Gregson's former band Any trouble, doing a gig in Birchfields Park plugged into a lamp-post.There was a main stage with Gordon the Moron as compere and probably bands such as Foreign Press and The Tunes playing.Anyway it was a lovely day for it...
Got to knock it on the head for a bit...start to go a bit mad after a while sitting in front of a computer (hence some of the meandering, word association, stream of conciousness biz).I can sit in front of a telly for hours and I'd like to believe it doesn't have quite the same effect...still got some more Band on Wall stuff to go but it's going better than I expected blah,blah....

“Victor gave me my first break playing harmonica with his blues-train in 1980, and yes, he says he was one of Hendrix's favourite vocalists.
I went on, with guitarist Nick Clarke, to form the party/blues band, YesSir! who were, as you have noticed, regulars at the band on the wall”
