Oops!,jumping back a year with this one. One time after a Wilko gig at the University we were mooching about upstairs as we were wont to do, when we happened across Wilko sat in a room with the telly on. Anyway it was all “howdy Wilko how’s it hangin’ dooode” and such like and I think he was a little taken aback. Well I had a strum of his guitar,(unplugged so it was more of a twang) and things seemed to be going swimmingly till one of my mates poured the best part of a pint down the back of the telly ( a black and white one as I recall),thus rendering it inoperable from that time forward ;daft sod! Well after such high jinx we could do nought but depart the scene of the indiscretion, offering profuse apologies (well I was a big fan of Wilko/Feelgoods from a tender age; a totally unique guitarist and an oddball to boot!) . I never got to see Wilko again and I doubt whether he got to see the end of his programme. Soz old bean..... Well at least I got to fiddle on the great man’s guitar!!
