Magazine's first "proper" gig after a brief appearance at the Electric Circus "Scanner Benefit" weekend. I recall there was a guy who lay on beds of nails and the like as part of the entertainment.
My home had become a bit of a crash pad as everyone knew my Dad was away. When Jon Savage asked me if I could put up a friend of his up from London to see the gig, I said of course. That, dear reader, is how New York punk diva, Patti Palladin wound up spending the night on a Salford Council Estate! I wish I had a video of her leaving next day. Dressed head to toe in leather with cowboy boots with spurs, the local kids ran after her pretending they were cowboys riding horses and shooting pretend pistols.
