Hac. Newsletter No. 6, Christmas ’82. ; and lastly me fave bit; the playlist for the month....
Don't seem to have any more of these newsletters but as it was a post- out to members there must be some around.
"Forget me nots,"- Patrice Rushen; "I Like What Your Doing to Me"-Young and Company; "Don't You Stop The Music"- Yarbrough and Peoples; We've Got the Funk-Positive Force; Chaka's- "Ain't Nobody"; ah yes it's all coming back to me now....it's sparking off the jukebox in my head...so many great choons that were on high rotation in the clubs and pubs around that time. The first 12" jazz funk record I ever bought was "Murphy's Law"- Cheri; that was a big deal for me 'cos I invariably opted for a reggae !2" when it came to the crunch. Anyway, got it home all excited, put it on the stereogram and low and behold it was only the same length as the 7". Gutted! Yeah these playlists really spark up me memory. Punky funk; funky punk;punky reggae parties....it was all good.
Looks like Kid Creole was flavour of the year. Had that "Annie I'm not your Daddy" on one of those good old fashioned pic discs; what a cheeky song that was!
